SUMMARY:6th Annual Global Health Conference
DESCRIPTION:About the conference\nGlobal Surgery: Addressing a Neglected Health Crisis\nThe Global Health Conference is an annual event bringing together a community of students\, trainees\, clinicians\, researchers\, and faculty from across health professions and disciplines to share knowledge. This year\, our focus is to bring attention to the often overlooked challenges in global surgical care\, addressing issues from care inequalities to the impact of education and training on building surgical capacity. We will explore how these factors specifically affect the care of children and women worldwide. Our goal is to create an inclusive discussion forum for anyone interested in global health and surgery – everyone is welcome to attend. \nThis is a hybrid event with both in-person and virtual options\, but of course we highly encourage you to attend in-person! Coffee and a catered lunch will be provided for all in-person attendees. She is recognized as a global surgery expert\, because of her research contributions on caesarean sections. She is an advocate for women’s health rights\, and equity in surgical and maternal care. She is an advisor and consultant to several institutions\, including the World Health Organization. DESCRIPTION:Rejoignez-nous pour une rencontre virtuelle enrichissante et inclusive conçue exclusivement pour le personnel PANDC (personnes autochtones\, noires et de couleur) travaillant dans le secteur de la coopération internationale au Canada. \nCette table ronde offre un espace unique au personnel PANDC pour se connecter\, partager des expériences et aborder collectivement les défis du secteur. Participez à des discussions enrichissantes\, bénéficiez des points de vue précieux de professionnel-le-s expérimenté-e-s et explorez ensemble des stratégies visant à améliorer la diversité\, l’équité et l’inclusion. Créons des liens\, encourageons la solidarité et ouvrons la voie à des changements positifs au sein de la communauté canadienne de la coopération internationale. Ensemble\, nous sommes plus fort-e-s. \nRéservez la date et participez à la conversation ! \nDates:\n– La table ronde des dirigeant-e-s* aura lieu le 4 avril de 13h à 16h (HE).\n– La table ronde du personnel** aura lieu le 9 avril de 13h à 16h (HE). \nStructure:\n– Fréquence : Chaque table ronde se réunira une fois au cours d’un après-midi.\n– Format : Réunions virtuelles\, chaque réunion comprendra une combinaison de discussions ouvertes et structurées.\n– Modération : La table ronde sera animée par l’Experte en Justice Raciale\, mais sera gérée par une appropriation collective invitant chacun-e à participer à la gestion et à la définition des réunions. \nPréparation : Les participant-e-s sont encouragés à arriver préparé-e-s à partager leurs expériences\, leurs questions et à s’engager activement dans les discussions. Des documents de prélecture seront distribués à l’avance afin de fournir un contexte et de faciliter une conversation plus informée. N’oubliez pas d’indiquer dans le formulaire d’inscription vos suggestions de sujets de caucus. \nSuivi : Un rapport de synthèse des discussions de la table ronde\, comprenant les principales idées/réflexions\, les mesures à prendre et les stratégies identifiées\, sera compilé et partagé avec les participant-e-s. Des activités de suivi\, y compris des canaux de communication permanents\, seront mises en place pour assurer la durabilité des initiatives discutées.
