SUMMARY:Introductory Course on Knowledge Synthesis for Knowledge Users
DESCRIPTION:Intro to KS for Knowledge Users_course_v5 \nThis course will teach students about knowledge synthesis in general\, as well as how to conduct knowledge synthesis projects. Students will begin to conduct knowledge synthesis in the topic of their choice\, with guidance from the course directors. Please note that the students will not be completing a full knowledge synthesis project during the duration of the course\, due to course timelines. \nAt the end of this course\, students will be able to: \n– Differentiate between different types of knowledge synthesis\, such as systematic reviews and qualitative evidence reviews\n– Distinguish between different types of evidence that can be summarized in knowledge synthesis\n– Develop a knowledge synthesis question\n– Establish the eligibility criteria for knowledge synthesis\n– Create a knowledge synthesis protocol \nWho should take this course? Graduate students\, post-doctoral fellows\, early career researchers\, new evidence synthesis practitioners\, other knowledge users. \nAll participants must bring a current or proposed knowledge synthesis project to work on in the course. University of Toronto students who are taking the course for credit must be in a PhD program. \nAttend here!

DESCRIPTION:Venez célébrer la SDI 2025 du 2 au 8 Février. \nQu’est-ce que la Semaine du développement international? \nDepuis 1991\, la SDI a lieu chaque année au cours de la première semaine complète de février et met en lumière la contribution des Canadiens à l’éradication de la pauvreté et à l’édification d’un monde plus pacifique\, plus inclusif et plus prospère. Il s’agit d’une occasion unique d’informer\, d’inspirer et de mobiliser les Canadiens ainsi que de célébrer leur incidence mondiale sur le développement international.  \nLa SDI consiste en une approche pancanadienne à laquelle prennent part des membres de la société civile\, les secteurs privé et philanthropique\, les établissements d’enseignement\, les organisations communautaires\, les organisations non gouvernementales (ONG) et le grand public. DESCRIPTION:Dans un contexte économique et géopolitique en constante évolution\, les partenariats avec le secteur privé pourraient s’affirmer comme une tendance majeure en 2025 et pour les années à venir. Des partenariats efficaces entre le secteur à but non lucratif et le secteur privé peuvent jouer un rôle essentiel dans l’amélioration de la santé mondiale et la réalisation des objectifs de développement durable. Pourtant\, les indicateurs de performance du secteur privé mettent encore majoritairement l’accent sur les contributions financières plutôt que sur l’impact social. Parallèlement\, la grande diversité du secteur privé et certaines idées reçues à son sujet rendent souvent les organisations à but non lucratif hésitantes à s’engager. \nCe webinaire bousculera les idées reçues et mettra en avant des approches inédites du secteur privé pour appuyer les ONG. DESCRIPTION:Sous l’impulsion du Canada à l’appui de l’Initiative du G8 de Muskoka\, le Mécanisme de financement mondial (GFF) a été lancé en 2015 pour accélérer les efforts visant à mettre fin aux décès évitables de mères\, de nouveau-nés\, d’enfants et d’adolescent·es d’ici 2030. \nCet événement celebrera 10 années des résultats du GFF pour débloquer des financements supplémentaires et à élargir l’accès à des soins de santé abordables et vitaux pour des centaines de millions de personnes dans les 36 pays partenaires du GFF. \nLes intervenant·es échangeront sur le rôle prépondérant du Canada dans le soutien au GFF en tant que partenariat mondial innovant\, et sur la voie à suivre pour poursuivre les progrès en matière de santé et de nutrition des femmes\, des enfants et des adolescent·es. \n\n Nous espérons que vous pourrez vous joindre à nous cette semaine à l’occasion de la #SDI2025\n\nInscrivez-vous ici !
