SUMMARY:Doing Hard Things With Friends: Accompaniment as Policy
DESCRIPTION:Join Partners in Health Canada for an informal group discussion on « Accompaniment as Policy\, » a talk by Dr. Paul Farmer delivered at the Harvard Kennedy School: https://www.harvardmagazine.com/2011/05/paul-farmer-accompaniment-as-policy. \nPaul reflects on what it truly means to “accompany” as a practice of solidarity that shapes how care\, development\, and policy are carried out. Drawing from his field work\, he challenges the idea that expertise alone is enough\, and makes the case that lasting change requires a willingness to stay when things get hard. \nThis session is a space to think together about: \n\nWhat accompaniment looks like in practice\nWhy so many well-intentioned policies fail at the implementation stage\nHow solidarity and imagination can reshape global health systems We look forward to reading (and thinking) together!\n\nAttend here!
