DESCRIPTION:Appel mondial pour protéger ce qui fait fonctionner la démocratie \nPartout dans le monde\, l’espace civique est menacé\, qu’il s’agisse de surveillance numérique\, de répression légale\, de musellement des militant·e·s ou de recul de la participation publique. Pourtant\, des marges à la société dominante\, les citoyen·ne·s se mobilisent pour défendre les libertés qui rendent possibles la démocratie\, les droits humains et la justice. \nLorsque l’espace civique est protégé\, les communautés s’épanouissent. Il permet aux gens de se rassembler\, que ce soit au sein d’associations communautaires\, de groupes d’agriculteur·trice·s et de coopératives\, d’organisations de défense des droits humains\, de réseaux de professionnel·le·s de la santé et de l’éducation\, de défenseur·euse·s du climat ou d’innombrables autres personnes qui œuvrent pour un monde meilleur. Les libertés de se réunir\, de s’exprimer et de s’organiser ne sont pas des idéaux abstraits : elles permettent d’améliorer les conditions de vie\, de fournir des services essentiels\, de défendre les droits et de construire un avenir plus juste et plus durable. \nLe Sommet sur l’espace civique d’Ottawa est une nouvelle plateforme mondiale visant à résister à la répression\, à revendiquer le pouvoir civique et à réimaginer un avenir démocratique plus inclusif. Ce rassemblement audacieux réunira des leaders de la société civile\, des militant·e·s de l’espace civique\, des gouvernements\, des bailleurs de fonds\, des médias\, des universitaires et des alliés du secteur privé afin de susciter l’espoir et de stimuler le changement. \n\nObjectifs du Sommet\n\n\n\nDéfendre l’espace civique en tant que pierre angulaire de la démocratie\, des droits\, de la justice et du développement durable. Catalyser la dynamique mondiale et la volonté politique d’investir dans les libertés civiques et de les protéger en tant que fondement du progrès social dans toutes les dimensions du développement durable. \nRevendiquer  l’espace civique en renforçant la résistance collective à sa répression et en favorisant la collaboration. Favoriser les partenariats entre les gouvernements\, la société civile\, les médias\, le monde universitaire et le secteur privé afin de contrer le recul mondial de l’espace civique. Renforcer le leadership\, la voix et l’autonomie des jeunes\, des femmes\, des peuples autochtones\, des personnes réfugiées et des personnes déplacées\, des communautés racialisées\, des personnes LGBTQI+ et d’autres groupes marginalisés. \nRéimaginer l’espace civique afin de tracer un avenir inclusif fondé sur l’apprentissage\, la créativité et l’action collective. Promouvoir la recherche transformatrice\, les outils innovants et les stratégies coordonnées qui répondent aux défis passés et présents\, tout en inspirant une vision renouvelée\, la résilience et un renouveau civique inclusif. \nLes enjeux et les thèmes abordés \nLe Sommet sur l’espace civique d’Ottawa explorera comment l’espace civique permet le progrès dans tous les secteurs\, de l’égalité des genres à l’action climatique et à la justice raciale\, en passant par l’éducation\, la santé\, la prospérité économique et l’aide humanitaire. SUMMARY:Wi Lead: Women with Disabilities Leading for Equality and Inclusion
DESCRIPTION:Wi Lead by Sabi (“We lead by example”) was a gender-transformative innovation that sought to address gender and disability discrimination as intersecting dimensions of women’s identities.
