Project Assistant

CanWaCH is seeking a part-time contract Project Assistant to support the delivery of CanWaCH’s work to advance global health and gender equality. This position is perfect for a student or emerging professional interested in gaining work experience in the field of global health and international cooperation. Position Description

The Project Assistant will play a supporting role in delivering on the success of CanWaCH’s data and mapping initiatives, such as the Project Explorer and the Equal Futures  Network Map. The Assistant will work approximately 20 hours a month on a flexible schedule and an as-needed basis and will be responsible for delivering on time-bound specific tasks, such as:

  • Entering data into the data portal to ensure data completeness  and maintaining data quality; 
  • Critically reading project information text to extract key data;
  • Conducting online research on specific topics and summarizing findings;
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date country reports; 
  • Entering project information and other content into CanWaCH’s website; 
  • Other tasks, as needed.

Qualifications

  • Basic experience working with Microsoft Office and Google Suite of tools, including Excel and Google Sheets
  • Willing to learn/comfortable using digital web forms to enter data
  • Ability to work efficiently while paying attention to detail, and to complete tasks within a limited time frame;
  • Ability to work in a virtual office environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills;
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines;
  • Flexible and adaptable;
  • Experience with administrative work and tasks;
  • Demonstrated interest in CanWaCH’s areas of work, including global health and international cooperation;
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Available for approximately 20 hours per month
  • French an asset but not required.

Compensation

The Project Assistant will be paid at a rate of $16 – $18 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
