As climate-exacerbated natural disasters continue to increase in frequency and intensity around the world, the effects of climate change are more clear than ever – and women and girls are most susceptible to their impact. This event examines the link between climate change resilience, family planning and sexual and reproductive health and rights through a panel discussion with experts and a presentation of FP2030’s new emergency preparedness and response strategy. Please join us to hear from policy makers, women’s rights organizations, advocates, and young leaders in the field.
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to be felt around the globe, political conflict persists in many countries, and further climate-driven crises occur, more and more women will be affected by crises. Without immediate action, we will risk losing decades of progress on sexual and reproductive health including access to family planning services and put at risk the already precarious traction on gender equality, women and girls empowerment. This session will share expertise from the field, and chart FP2030’s plan for the future.
