Private Screening & Panel for NAWI: Dear Future Me

Save the Children Canada, Plan International Canada, Girls Not Brides, and New Mountain Films are hosting a special private screening, panel discussion and reception for NAWI: Dear Future Me, Kenya’s official submission to the 97th Oscars Academy Awards, co-sponsored by MP Karina Gould.

Set in Turkana and inspired by lived experience, the film tells the powerful story of 13‑year‑old Nawi, who bravely resists a forced marriage in pursuit of her education. This event will serve as an opportunity to spotlight Canada’s long-standing leadership in advancing gender equality and ending child, early and forced marriage (CEFM).
