Visiting the Mayagna community of Amak on the Bocay River in December 2024, it was communicated to the Change for Children team that their world-bank financed water system was in need of repair, rehabilitation and expansion.
After years without safe and accessible water, all 245 families in Amak now have household taps. The system also supplies the church, school, community centre, and Indigenous government
office.
