Annual Giving Officer

Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Fund Development Operations and Annual Giving, the Annual Giving Officer is a key member of the fund development team, responsible for executing a comprehensive annual giving program to support Operation Eyesight’s overall fund development plan and global strategy.

Key Accountabilities

  • Contribute to the development of annual giving strategies and program plans
  • Execute annual giving activities including direct mail solicitation letters, digital campaigns, peer-to-peer fundraising, monthly giving, special appeals, etc.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to design and deliver engaging campaign materials aligned with organizational voice and branding.
  • Maintain accurate donor records and campaign activity within Operation Eyesight’s CRM, Salesforce.
  • Track and analyze individual campaign performance metrics, such as response rate and cost per dollar raised to refine strategies and ensure annual giving goals are met.
  • Create and manage segmented solicitation plans to drive acquisition, retention and upgrades.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with annual donors, ensuring consistent and meaningful communication.
  • Work collaboratively with the Mid-Level Giving Officer to ensure a seamless donor journey, identifying opportunities for annual donors to transition into mid-level giving and coordinating stewardship and engagement strategies to maximize donor retention, satisfaction and growth across both portfolios.
  • Work closely with colleagues across all departments to ensure proper communication and strategy-development within the portfolio, proactively planning and chairing recurring annual giving meetings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and vendors to coordinate and execute key aspects of annual giving campaigns, including production, mail-outs, email lists, appeals, and database updates.
  • Contribute to identifying and building the mid-level and major gifts pipelines.

    Education/Training/Experience
  • A post-secondary degree in fundraising, marketing, communications or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of best practices in annual giving and donor engagement.
  • Experience working with CRM databases; Salesforce experience considered an asset
  • Knowledge of CRA charitable regulations and commitment to ethical fundraising practices.
