Chief Operating Officer (COO)

We are looking for an experienced and passionate non-profit leader who is skilled in change management has a strong financial management background and is driven by passion and principle to advance human progress in all its forms. Reporting to the Chief Executive officer (CEO), this leader will help to set organizational strategy and lead on its operationalization as they oversee the administrative, operational and finance functions of Cuso. This includes ensuring processes, policies and controls directly support the implementation of our Strategic Plan, with a high focus on excellent corporate service and financial reporting and accountability. Working closely with the CEO, the COO sets the structure and culture of internal operations.

The ideal candidate is a superior communicator, has a coaching approach to leadership, and is adept and experienced at managing diverse teams in multicultural contexts. Your understanding and commitment to advance diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism will be key in supporting Cuso International through a period of revitalization and transformation. With a reputation for operational effectiveness, an affinity for procedure and attention to detail, you have played significant leadership roles in the areas of finance, human resources and administration and have a track record of career entrepreneurship. You love a challenge, are highly self-aware and derive your energy from effective teamwork and building the capacity of those around you. Bringing with you 10+ years NGO leadership experience, a post-secondary education and significant financial acumen, some international experience and capacity in both official languages would be great assets to possess and bring to this critical role.
