Work Arrangement:                      A combination of in-office and remote-working in accordance with Right To Play’s work arrangement and the operational needs of the department. Possibility of remote-working pending management approval.

Authorized to Work in:                 Canada or UK (eligible to work legally without requiring sponsorship or work permit)

Target Hiring Range:              CAD 74,000 – 78,000 / GBP 42,000 – 46,000 per annum (dependent on successful candidate’s work location)

Target Start Date:                          Early-February 2023

Contract Duration:                       Full-time, 7-month contract role from early-February 2023 to mid-September 2023

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing and Communications, the Digital Marketing Manager drives the implementation the organization’s digital communications plan, supporting Right To Play’s 22 National and Country Offices in their digital marketing efforts, liaising with vendors and partners, and contributing to the HQ Communications Plan. You will have the opportunity to work with a team of international colleagues to help Right To Play acquire, engage, and delight supporters. 

Specifically, you will be responsible for the overall management and functioning of the Right To Play website and its seven domains, as well as the relationship with our web agency; digital content creation; paid campaign management; managing Meta Advertising, AdWords, SEO; oversight of Right To Play social media accounts; and liaising with Right To Plays IT and fundraising CRM leads.  

You will manage and mentor a Digital Marketing Coordinator.

Meetings outside regular office hours may be required on occasion due to time difference.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Responsibility #1: Campaign Management (40% of Time):

  • Provide strategic, creative and tactical support for organic campaigns, attempting to reach new supporters while developing deeper connections with current ones
  • Adapt and amplify these efforts through paid campaigns, including ads on Meta platforms, Google AdWords, etc.
  • Support National Offices with their paid campaigns, offering strategic advice, sharing best practices, and helping with performance analysis

Job Responsibility #2: Digital Platform Management (30% of Time):

  • Maintain Right To Play’s website with updated content, brand information, and tools to increase email acquisition and drive donations
  • Alongside the Digital Marketing Coordinator, build Right To Play’s social media presence and engagement, including by driving traffic to the website
  • Continue the implementation of existing SEO strategies to bring prospective supporters to the website through search
  • Provide strategic support for National Offices in their social media, website, and email efforts

Job Responsibility #3: Team and Partners Management (15% of Time):

  • Work with the Digital Marketing Coordinator to build digital marketing skills and competencies, and develop knowledge within the organization
  • Lead relationships with and assign priorities to existing partners offering digital marketing expertise, including web development agency, SEO experts, advertising partners, etc.

  • Work with Digital Marketing Coordinator to analyze performance based on KPIs and other collected data
  • Draw conclusions, presentations, and actionable recommendations based on data across digital channels

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Must have):

EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION:

  • Post-secondary education with a degree or diploma in marketing, business, or communications

EXPERIENCE:

  • 7 years’ experience with digital marketing and social media management
  • Managing, maintaining and troubleshooting with a CMS, ensuring a website is functioning as-intended and bug-free
  • Managing direct reports 
  • Managing and leading external partners, such as web developers
  • SEO/SEM strategy implementation 
  • Creating and disseminating compelling digital campaign content, particularly for web and social
  • Online advertising platforms (e.g. Facebook Ads Manager and Google AdWords) 
  • Email marketing and lead generation
  • Google Analytics, Facebook Insights and other analytics software to identify audience insights, user behaviour and drive data-based decision-making
  • Writing and editing for web, email, and social media

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Detailed knowledge of website CMS and functionality – must be able to work with and lead web developers on bug fixes and small changes, but also larger projects and decisions with wider implications (ex: improvements to SEO features that align with the organizational SEO Strategy)
  • Understanding of UI/UX best practices and a commitment for improving user experiences 
  • Understanding and comfort with quantitative analysis and able to draw conclusions and offer recommendations from raw data 

LANGUAGES:    

  • Fluency in spoken and written English

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS (An Asset):

  • Experience working at a not-for-profit 
  • Experience with the following software (or similar):
    • Wagtail CMS 
    • Python coding framework 
    • Sprout Social and/or Hootsuite  
    • Hotjar or website behaviour analytics tools  
    • Mailchimp or other email marketing services  
  • Experience in an international organization, working with/supporting different offices/chapters 
  • Proficiency in Dutch, French, German or Norwegian
