Action Canada for Sexual Health & Rights is a progressive, human rights based charitable organization committed to advancing and upholding sexual and reproductive health and rights in Canada and globally.
We are an organization that works in Canada and around the world to promote health, wellbeing, and rights related to sexuality and reproduction. Building on the 50-year legacy of the organizations that formed Action Canada, we provide direct support, referrals, and information to the people who need it most, partner with groups and organizations on a range of campaigns using a collaborative, movement-building approach, and work with decision-makers to advance progressive policies on access to abortion, stigma-free healthcare, gender equality, LGBTQ rights, sex workers’ rights, and inclusive sex-ed.
The Finance team consists of the Director of Finance, the Finance Officer, and the Junior Project Accountant. The Finance Officer reports to the Director of Finance and works closely with project and program managers as required. Our small and nimble team works closely together to support the important work of the organization.
Who You Are
You are a finance professional with a strong eye for detail, excellent Excel skills, experience with reporting on multi-year grants, and broad financial experience, ideally in the non-profit sector. You are a team player and are excited to work within a small but growing organization. You are not intimidated by change and welcome the opportunity to work on multiple grants, helping to improve systems and processes for increased efficiency.

Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), salaried position. This is a unionized position in CUPE Local 2722-05. Salary for this position is $63,000 per annum. Action Canada also provides a generous benefits program, including extended health and dental benefits, leave allowances, and RRSP contributions.
This is a parental leave cover, with an end date of 31 July 2023.
Location
This position is based out of Action Canada’s Ottawa office, at 240 Bank Street. While the successful candidate must be based in Ottawa and able to attend the Ottawa office from time to time, most staff continue to work remotely, and the organization expects to continue to have flexible alternative work arrangements.
