poverty by addressing gender-based violence, inequalities in access to resources and
economic opportunities, and barriers in exercising strategic forms of choice, voice, and
influence.

Description of the partner

Bantwana addresses the needs of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC), innovating new
approaches within communities to deepen its practices, expertise and evidence base interventions
before scaling successful models nationally. This approach remains central to all of Bantwana’s
work — innovation and partnership for sustainable development.

Description the volunteer mandate

Bantwana implements multiple projects at once. Tracking of progress on beneficiaries reached
across all these projects is done manually. Number of beneficiaries reached is siloed and
aggregating the data reports may be misleading due to double counting particularly where
geographical areas and targeted groups intersect. b thus wants to improve the
consolidation of results achieved and reported across different projects through a centralized
Management Information System (MIS) database that has the capability to meet individual donor
reporting expectations. Also, tracking of overall Bantwana beneficiaries served will be on realtime crucial for Bantwana’s adaptive management.
