OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION
The Project Officer is a member of the Crossroads Program Team. 50% of his/her responsibilities are dedicated to the My Voice, My Health (Damcam) project and the other 50% to the Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP), two projects funded by Global Affairs Canada. For the My Voice, My Health project, the incumbent works in close collaboration with the Project
Director and in coordination with the Regional Representative for West Africa, both based in Senegal. In this capacity, the Project Officer monitors the adequacy of project planning and implementation with the contractual terms of the donor, Global Affairs Canada. For the VCP, in collaboration with the Sectoral Program Officers and the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
based in Canada, the incumbent coordinates the management process of Crossroads’ special projects on women’s and girls’ rights, access to justice, sexual and reproductive health and rights, reduction of violence against women and girls, women’s and girls’ leadership and women’s economic empowerment. The incumbent ensures that gender and human rights
based cross-cutting approaches and best practices in results-based management (RBM) are integrated into all projects.
GENERAL CONTEXT
Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP)
This 7-year project (2020-2027) funded by Global Affairs Canada aims to reduce gender inequality and alleviate poverty by addressing gender-based violence, inequalities in access to resources and economic opportunities, and barriers to the exercise of strategic forms of choice, voice and influence that are the result of unequal and discriminatory power relations mbedded
in society. Seven hundred and seventy (770) Canadian and Southern volunteers will be deployed in our countries of intervention to implement short-, medium- and long-term mandates to support partner organizations in 11 sub-Saharan African countries (Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Eswatini, Ghana, Senegal, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia).
DAMCAM, My Voice, My Health Project
This project aims to improve the sexual and reproductive health of adolescents in Kédougou, Senegal, by improving access, quality, and utilization of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services. This project is supported by Carrefour International and ActionAid International Senegal, along with two local partners, APROFES and CONAFE.\
RESPONSIBILITIES
(45%) Under the supervision of the Director of Programs, monitor the project: My Voice, My Health: Improving Sexual and Reproductive Health for Adolescents in Senegal, funded by Global Affairs Canada:
