Request for Quotations: CanWaCH Data Analytics and Visualization

1. Summary

The Canadian Partnership for Women and Children’s Health (CanWaCH) is currently seeking a consultant(s) or company to design and develop visually compelling representations of CanWaCH’s Project Explorer data. 

CanWaCH catalyzes Canadian collaboration to deepen effectiveness in improving women’s and children’s health in communities around the world. We are a proud membership of more than 100 non-governmental organizations (NGOs), academic institutions, health professional associations and individuals partnering to improve health outcomes for women and children in communities worldwide. Through the Project Explorer, we offer unique insights into the full scope of Canadian efforts in global health and gender equality, humanitarian assistance and human rights, including Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), using interactive maps and tools, data resources and effective visualizations.

2. Project Description and Scope 

This contract will involve the development of a series of interactive and static graphical reports and visualizations, using maps, graphs, charts or other visual representations of data in creatively appealing, relevant and accessible formats in order to amplify the potential for impact and improve decision making within the international cooperation sector. The visuals will represent data collected by the CanWaCH Project Explorer, and must be able to be modified as new data becomes available, in order to highlight trends, progress, and existing data gaps in global health and gender equality programming with a specific focus on SRHR data. 

We are seeking a solution that is intuitive and offers the ability to create visuals that require limited technical skills and will:

• Create interactive visuals such as infographics and/or dashboards for web (embedded visuals) or print 
• Support downloadable and shareable file formats
• Provide an editable design template
• Offer sort, filter and drill down functions
• Support ad hoc data updates and visual refresh

We expect to refine the scope of the project in consultation with the successful bidder.

3. Project Timeline: CanWaCH anticipates that the project deliverables are to be completed no later than August 31, 2022.

4. Budget

4.1 All quotations must include proposed costs to complete the tasks described in the project description and scope. 

4.2 All costs and fees must be clearly described in each quotation. If the consultant submitting a quotation must outsource or contract any work to meet the requirements contained herein, this must be clearly stated in the quotation. Additionally, all costs included in the quotation must be all-inclusive to include any outsourced or contracted work, as well as applicable taxes. Any quotations which call for outsourcing or contracting work must include a name and description of the organizations being contracted.

5. Bidder Qualifications:

The successful bidder should possess expertise in WordPress. The submission should include:

• Company or consultant profile 
• Portfolio of past work or references with contact details
• Brief description of expertise or qualifications 
• Scope of services for the project indicating system and software requirements 

Please note that, at this time, CanWaCH is only accepting quotes from individuals and/or organizations eligible to work in Canada. 

6. Quotation Evaluation Criteria:

CanWaCH will evaluate all quotations based on the following criteria:

• Previous work: Bidders will be evaluated on examples of their work pertaining to the the subject matter;
• Value and cost: Bidders will be evaluated on the cost of their quotation based on the work to be performed in accordance with the scope of this project;
• Expertise and experience: Bidders will be evaluated based on descriptions and documentation of staff/consultant expertise and experience.
