LIFe has created a small iron cooking tool, cast in the shape of a fish, that infuses meals with a healthy
amount of natural iron to help prevent and address iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia. Iron

Through our business development efforts Lucky Iron Fish has partnered with large international NGOs
(iNGOs) to deliver nutrition programming around the world, including in Cambodia, Tanzania, Benin,
Madagascar, Senegal, India, Peru, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic. Lucky Iron Fish provides
tailored training and program development help to organizations working to address hunger and
malnutrition.

THE POSITION/OPPORTUNITY
The Sr. Manager, Business Development & Partnerships will report directly to the Programs & Impact
Director and support our NGO and corporate engagement efforts. The role will work directly with the
senior management team and be responsible for generating new leads and partnerships with large
iNGOs and corporate foundations.

The position will require business development, engagement with external partners, research into trends
and statistics in the global nutrition landscape, and putting together case studies, proposals and
sector-specific marketing material. Grant writing and research will also be required.

The ideal candidate has experience working with a large iNGO in a fundraising or partnership capacity
and has international development and/or global health experience and is comfortable leading calls and
work sessions with a variety of sectors and actors. Work experience in the nutrition sector, specifically
with micronutrient deficiencies, is an asset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of major partners, including prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, proposal writing, relationship management and related administrative tasks (immediate focus on NGO partners, experience with a range of partners is an asset).
  • Work with the Impact & Partnerships Director to set and achieve annual revenue targets for the segment.
  • Relationship management with external partners including NGOs, Corporates and Research partners. Focus will be on cultivating new relationships and expanding existing relationships.
  • Generate new business development opportunities through partnerships with NGOs and Corporate partners.
  • Identify new grant opportunities and writing and editing funding applications.
  • Drafting presentation materials and delivering presentations to promote programs, opportunities and initiatives.
  • Developing marketing and partnership plans to support business development initiatives
  • Supporting Programs & Impact Director in developing new training materials and delivering training to key stakeholders.
  • Some international travel to conferences and to meet with field partners may be included.

Qualifications/Must-haves:

  • Partnership building or fundraising experience with large iNGOs
  • Grant/proposal writing experience
  • Understanding of the global health financing landscape. Work experience in the nutrition sector, specifically with micronutrient deficiencies, is an asset
  • An understanding (and passion) for social enterprises and “business for good”
  • Multitasker and adaptable to shifting priorities
  • Capable organizational skills – does not let things fall through the cracks
  • Working knowledge of MS Office required and experience with G Suite tools (Google Docs, Sheets etc.), a CRM/project management software (preferably HubSpot)

Good-to-haves:

  • Degree in International Development, Nutrition, Global Health or related studies or relevant experience working in NGO sales, global health, or related health position
  • Additional language skills and/or relevant work experience in the following countries: India, Peru, Benin, Tanzania, Egypt or Indonesia

Salary Range
$65,000-$80,000 with additional bonus payments opportunities (up to $25,000)
