This intervention will contribute to reduced suffering, increased and maintained human
dignity, and lives saved for vulnerable internally displaced people (IDPs), host community (HC)
members, and returnees, particularly women and girls, in Samangan Province. The two districts of Khuram Wa Sarbagh and Ruyi Du Ab will be targeted. The project seeks to address the needs in the health sector by renovating basic health centers to increase access to primary health services. Health center staff will be recruited to provide primary healthcare services, along with immunization. Additionally, maternal and child health and nutrition services will be provided through antenatal and postnatal services, along with referrals and cash assistance based on the health referrals. Construction of nutrition counselor rooms and therapeutic feeding units will further support nutrition activities, along with awareness sessions.

Haut de la pageThe project will improve access to immediate household non food needs by distributing dignity kits to women and girls, as well as newborn baby kits to pregnant and lactating women. Gender responsive health services will also be provided through increased access to primary healthcare services, and maternal and child health and nutrition services. Health facilities will be equipped and rehabilitated, including 1 provincial facilitiy, with staff recruited to provide primary healthcare services, including immunization. Furthermore, access to maternal and child health and nutrition services will be increased through construction/rehabilitation of nutrition cousellor rooms and therapeutic feeding units. Antenalatal and postnatal services will be provided for mothers, and SAM and MAM cases will be identified and treated. Cash assistance will support primarily women and children to received care as a result of referrals. Lastly, the intervention seeks to improved awareness on critical maternal health, nutrition, and hygriene information through awareness sessions.
