Building on the success of last year’s school technology initiative in Chicamán, where more than 600 students gained access to digital learning resources (RACHEL), this year, offline digital libraries and mobile learing labs have been extended to six additional schools in the remote north-central municipality of Uspantán and one partner in Sololá. These schools serve a total of 903 students and 59 teachers.

To strengthen access to digital education and improve learning outcomes in remote rural areas by equipping classrooms with offline technology and training teachers in its effective use. The project provides RACHEL digital libraries, Chromebooks, and Smart TVs powered by solar energy, bringing quality educational content to schools without internet connectivity.
Each participating school was equipped with a RACHEL Plus digital library, Chromebooks, UPS energy regulator, and, where energy capacity allowed, Smart TVs. In communities without stable power, additional Chromebooks were provided instead of televisions, ensuring that all students could access offline educational content.
