Education is the key to empower PWDs to become self-reliant and play a productive part in society. In a developing country like Pakistan where literacy for general public is approximately 45%, one can imagine the lack of capacity and educational facilities for PWDs. Education institutions dedicated for PWDs are rarely found in big cities whereas in rural areas PWDs are stigmatized. The Al-Mudassar Trust is striving to empower children with disabilities CWDs through provision of free of cost specialized quality education in district Gujrat, Punjab. This project will support operational cost to continue educational activities at the ALMT’s school. These costs include salaries of the teaching staff, transportation cost, and books, stationary and uniform cost and also cost for R&D to further improve the quality of education at the school.
